Iyanya Kicks Off Campus Tour

Project Fame West Africa’s first ever winner Iyanya Mbuk today March 2, 2012 rolled out plans for his campus music tour ‘IYANYA AND FRIENDS’ as part of plans to release his second album.

According to organizers of the City-Campus tour, Iyanya will be joined by some of the biggest names in the game like M.I, Sound Sultan, IcePrince, Davido and Tiwa Savage.

Others include Jesse Jagz, Sauce Kid, Soli Star, Samklef, Vector, Brymo, W4, Praiz, Yung6ix, Skales, Rayce, Eva, YQ, Mike Anyasodo, Dammy Krane, Chidinma, Shank, Tunde Ednut, Tolu, Yemi Alade, Ajay Prestige and EMINIIC.

Iyanya recently brought music friend and fans together on February 1, for a special edition of Industry Nite held in his honour at the Oriental Hotel, in Lekki, Lagos.

Iyanya, J Martins, Burna Boy, Timi Dakolo to join Mr 2Kay for Industry Nit!

Port Harcourt-based singer Mr 2Kay is moving over to Lagos to continue pushing his music, and he’ll be starting with a welcome gig by the biggest music industry platform Industry Nite.

On Wednesday February 6, 2013 Iyanya, J Martins, Burna Boy, Timi Dakolo will join Mr 2Kay to take over Industry Nite for a spectacular evening of musical performances and more.

Other guest performers, according to Grafton Records, include Jaywon, Chidinma, Ruggedman,  Phyno, IllBliss, Frank D’Nero, Tha Suspekt and  Mbryo.

He will also premiere his new video at the event.

‘Lagos has shown me so much love, from the DJs to OAPs and all the fans. And I’m here to return the love and even make more music that everyone will enjoy’, the ‘Waterside Boy’ says.

The event will hold at the GET Arena in Lekki, Lagos next Wednesday, with MC Larry D as host.

AFCON 2013: Super Eagles get N4.7m each for Ethiopia victory

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) last night awarded each member of the Super Eagles a sum of $30,000 for qualifying for the quarter final of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles yesterday January 29, 2013 defeated Ethiopia 2-0 in their last Group D match qualifying along with Burkina Faso, with current Champions Zambia going home.

In similar fashion, each member of the Black Stars of Ghana squad were paid US$ 35,000 each for advancing to the last eight.

Nollywood’s pride, Genevieve Nnaji may have had the privilege of working with a crop of Hollywood’s A-list actors on the set of Chimamanda Adiche’s Half of A Yellow Sun yet-to-be-released film directed by Niyi Bandele but not the pleasure of seeing her role when it comes to cinemas. Genevieve’s scenes weren’t expressly important to the story, a reliable source that has seen the movie told us. “I figured that because of Ms Nnaji’s way of acting, her character dragged the storyline, so it was cut out during editing. Obviously, if she was good enough like Onyeka Onwenu, she would have been given a major role in the film. “Her minor role was compensation to Nollywood. So, the film producers might be apologetic for cutting out her parts, as she should not try to go to the cinemas to see the film with her family members, else she will give herself heartache.”

It was a very intense exercise for the post-production team; in fact, they ended up cutting out some characters from the book to beat time in order to stay focus and professional. Test audiences, we gathered did not like those scenes.

According to the source, the director realized some footage may not be needed and unfortunately many of those scenes involved the Tango with Me star actress, such that if she appears on screen at all, it will be in a significantly reduced capacity from what her role was in the script.

Meet Woman With The Longest Hair!!!

Dai Yue Qin, betterknown as Miss Dyq, is the Queen of long hair in China.
 Born in April 1964 in Tong Xiang (Zhejiang province, South China), she began to grow long hair at about 14. Everybody admired her two long and thick black shiny braids so she decided to cut it off never.
After graduation she worked in a carpet factory in Suzhou for 10 years, then returned to her hometown and worked at a big hotel. As her hair-length of 3,30 meters raised more and more attraction she joined several long hair competitions and has won prizes till now.
 In 2001 she moved to the U.S. where her friend lives.
 In 2005 she visited her family and friends in China and again attended some contests and long hair shows. It takes her about 1 to 2 hours to comb her tresses which are 420 cm in length now (almost 14 feet!). The washing of that shiny flood of hair needs 5 to 6 hours every two weeks.

They also banned the video for Flavour’s Shake. Goldie also didn’t escape the ban as her video for Ski bobo also got the ban.

iPhone 6 'about to enter production, packs 4.8" screen'

The iPhone 6 is preparing to enter production ahead of its mooted launch date in June, reports indicate, as the start of a new year brings a slew of new rumours around Apple’s plans for 2013.

In a note to investors, Jefferies analyst Peter Misek claims that Apple is already undertaking trials of the next iteration of the iPhone and the fabled iPhone Mini, presumably in the environs of its Cupertino campus, before they enter production in March.
Misek also corroborated persistent rumours that the iPhone 6, also informally dubbed the iPhone 5S, will be home to a 4.8-inch screen, up from the four-inch display that debuted on the iPhone 5.
That tallies with a separate report from the China Times, also claiming that Apple will enter the fast-growing phablet market this year with a device that teams smartphone functionality with dimensions that verge on tablet territory.
The industry expert also backs conjecture that the handset will be equipped with a super HD camera, Near Field Communications technology to up the handset’s credentials as a digital wallet, improved battery life and 128GB of storage.
Apple is also thought likely to make its seventh-generation handset available in a host of new colour options, including pink, yellow, blue, green, purple, silver, red and slate.
